La Honda’s mission is to nurture curious, independent learners who demonstrate success through collaborative, challenging project-based learning.

School Profile

Lompoc is located 150 miles northwest of Los Angeles in Santa Barbara County and has a population of approximately 43,500. The Lompoc Unified School District strives to provide a quality education for all its students with a wide range of programs and a talented staff dedicated to the needs of our students. The district serves approximately 9,700 students in grades TK-12 living in the city of Lompoc; the communities of Vandenberg Village, Mesa Oaks, Mission Hills; Vandenberg Air Force Base; and rural areas adjacent to these communities. La Honda STEAM Academy is very proud of its academic achievements. We continue to improve on our teaching skills and adapting to our ever-changing population. La Honda STEAM Academy is committed to providing a strong instructional program for all students to ensure excellence in education. We are proud to share our message regarding STEAM integration. In fact, we were recently selected to present at the 2019 California STEAM Convention, in three areas.

Vision Statement

La Honda STEAM Academy is where students learn problem-solving in a supportive, accountable, collaborative community through an integrated approach to learning science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, English, social studies and physical education.

Parental Involvement

Parents and the community are very supportive of the educational program at La Honda STEAM Academy.Parents are always welcome and encouraged to join the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and to attend various school events, including Family Nights, back-to-school night, open house, the Family Literacy Project, ELAC, field trips and assemblies.
