La Honda STEAM Academy

Dear La Honda STEAM Academy Families and Community,

It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I introduce myself as the Principal of La Honda STEAM Academy. I am truly honored to have joined this vibrant school community, known for its commitment to safety, enjoyment, academic excellence, and student-centered learning.

With 29 years in education — as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and administrator — I have always been driven by the belief that every child deserves a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. I am passionate about empowering both students and educators to grow, explore, and achieve their highest potential.

La Honda STEAM Academy’s mission is to nurture trusting relationships with students, staff and families, hold high aspirations and deliver success for all students.  This aligns perfectly with my educational philosophy. I believe that education at school prepares students for their future, igniting curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking — skills that are essential for our children as they grow into flourishing adults.

As I step into this new role, my priorities will include:

• Sustaining strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and staff
• Supporting high-quality, inclusive instruction across all grade levels
• Fostering a school culture that celebrates diversity, collaboration, and continuous improvement

I value open communication and community involvement, and I look forward to working closely with each of you to ensure that La Honda remains a place where every student feels successful, hopeful, and challenged.
